My final posters

Poster 1

This poster is very simple with just a play with words and colours. However it is eye-catching as it is abstract. It also features a slogan for the newspaper saying "The Harrogate Gazette ... It's got something for everybody" The colours are neutral but give the poster variety which is what the newspaper offers therefore backing up the slogan on the advert. It also features the newspapers website to promote it further, which is a well known generic convention of newspaper adverts. The advert tells the audience what is unique about the newspaper and that is the variety of stories found in it. The advert isn't aimed at a specific genre, it is aimed at everybody. There is little text used that differs from the newspaper name, so that the audience doesn't lose interest.

Poster 2

This poster focus more on images. Instead of just saying "...It's got something for everybody" is shows just who that everybody is.There is alot of variety with the people used from old to young and male and female, therefore the poster isnt aimed at a specific genre. The advert once again features a slogan and the newspaper website as well as the newspaper name and logo. It is eye-catching but not too vibrant. There is little text used to keep the audience's interest.
